i finished watching "serial experiments lain" with a friend last week. it was excellent, and it made me think a lot about what the future could very well end up being like, considering the future of vr and the internet in general. it wasn't the easiest show to understand at times and often left me with more questions at the end than answers; this didn't make it a bad show though, often the opposite. i always wanted to know more, to understand and i wasn't ever left with a displeased taste in my mouth after an episode because of the confusing nature of the show.

what i think the biggest takeaway from the show is, besides that i quite enjoy watching and discussing with that friend, is my fascination with that sort of intentionally bizzare, hard to parse way the show went about its presentation.
